RockJock's narrow forged Johnny Joints for fabricators and suspension system builders offer 40 degrees of unrestricted movement in any direction as compared to 22 degrees on a common heim joint! Johnny Joint rod ends offer cushioning that a heim joint cannot provide via high-density urethane bushing that encases the inner ball. The heat treated center balls are cross-drilled for thru-bolt lubrication and the joint internals are retained with 2 heavy duty, heat treated side washers and a snap ring. This specific joint is a 2 in. diameter, narrow body and features a 9 in. long shank, from CL of joint to end of tip of threads), 3 1/2 in. of 1 in.-14 RH threads and a 1.600 in. wide x 0.510 in. thru-hole center pivot ball. Being that, in our applications, we use this specific joint in TJ, LJ, XJ, MJ and XJ front trac bars, the shank portion features a 12 degree vertical bend, 3 1/2 in. from the joint Cl, as seen in the photo, making it specific to fitment in this application. Finish is gold zinc plating. RockJock Forged Johnny Joint Rod Ends are found incorporated into our suspension kits and components, but are also available individually for universal usage when custom suspension is being fabricated. Joint is externally greasable via a zerk fitting. Finish is gold zinc plating.
RockJock by John Currie's roots run deep as jeeping has been a love of the Currie family for decades. In his off-roading adventures, John pushed the limits of his vehicles coming to the realization of the shortcomings of the equipment. Thus it became John's goal to design and build the best-performing, strongest, most durable products on the market. A Jeep suspension upgrade product line was first developed in the 1980s based around Jeep CJ and YJ vehicles. Fast forward to 1998 and John's off-road passion evolved into rock crawling competitions. In 2001, John Currie took home the 1st place trophy in the Extreme Rock Crawling Championship Series, in a RockJock equipped Jeep TJ Wrangler. This was the first of many victories for John and various RockJock equipped vehicles in numerous rock crawling, Ultra 4 and desert racing championships! RockJock continues to progress and innovate as new platforms of vehicles are introduced. From the JK Wrangler, the JL Wrangler and JT Gladiator, John Currie personally continues to design, build, test, sell, and install the finest, cutting-edge, high-end suspension, steering and towing components available.
